Nyumba Eriko – Kajiado is the epitome of a rustic Kenyan bush home. In the tranquil Rift Valley area of Kajiado, nature walks and bird watching are a must, or choose to cycle through the gently sloping terrain whilst observing game such as Giraffe, Zebra and numerous Buck species. Mixed acacia woodland and high ridges offer amazing views down towards Tanzania and across to Magadi on this family-shared 150 acre property.
Relax on the house’s verandas, overlooking Kenyan nature and the beautiful Champagne Ridge or enjoy a BBQ and open-fire at the mess’ entertainment area.
Basic, but stunning – Nyumba Eriko consists of four main areas;
The Tent – camping in style, the tent’s veranda provides exquisite views south over the Rift Valley. A double bed and a twin room , with an en-suite bathroom.
The Top House – morning tea with views over Champagne Ridge, the top house has a double bedroom with attached twin room (two children’s beds) and en-suite bathroom.
The Mess – the entertainment area of Nyumba Eriko offering a dining room, living room and veranda with outdoor BBQ and open fire pit, perfect for a sundowner!
The Kitchen – Basic kitchen equipment is in place; a 4 ringed gas hob and oven and an eclectic collection of plates, cutlery and pans. There is a solar freezer, with limited space and a fridge which works off the main solar system. Cool boxes and ice are recommended! If possible, 20 litres of water should be brought per car.
Nyumba Eriko Team – a combination of Maasai and Nairobi hospitality, there are four staff on hand to help you throughout your stay (neither of them are cooks)
Costs: KShs. 12,000 per night for 8 guests. Conservation fee Ksh.1,000 per night. Campsite options available for extra guests at Ksh.1,000 per night per tent. The property can accommodate a maximum of 12 guests.
